The Senior Advisor on Equity and Diversity is a senior-level position reporting directly to the President and serving as a member of the President’s Senior Cabinet.
The Senior Advisor on Equity and Diversity leads the development and implementation of proactive diversity, equity and inclusion policies and initiatives in support of VSCI's Strategic Plan to create an environment where all have an opportunity to succeed.
The Senior Advisor champions the importance and value of a diverse and inclusive organization and leads the development of a vision and effective strategy to create a culture for equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The Senior Advisor actively engages the Board, staff, and program participants to further behaviors, attitudes, and policies that support diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Senior Advisor will collaborate with stakeholders to assess potential barriers and develop strategies to recruit and retain a diverse workforce.
The Senior Advisor will also collaborate with Human Resources to assess the need for, and recommend training initiatives on, cultural competency, gender differences, disability, sexual harassment, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws.
The Senior Advisor will oversee compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and other applicable requirements.
